As you drive up to our log home bed and breakfast, you notice a large,
unique circular driveway and covered
triple carport. The outside foyer features antique handsaws that
workers used in the original construction of the house.
Just to the left through the outside foyer lies the
“From The Brush Suite”
featuring a
private entrance,
queen and twin
wrought iron beds, an ensuite bath with shower, small kitchenette
and dining area. This area has
been decorated with many pieces of artwork from Kimberly’s
grandmother Alice Snow. This suite is available for weekly
rental (breakfast is not included) or per night.
As
you enter through the
front door, you step into the large (4,350 sq.ft.)
log home that was built with care and craftsmanship. A room just to your right
and facing the front of the house is named
“To The Point Suite". It is decorated with many
fine needlepoint pieces from David's mother Melva Robbins, and grandmother
Winifred Robbins. The labour and talent of the two women add warmth to the room.
A queen-size wrought iron bed and a bright ensuite bath with shower make for a
lovely stay. A door leads from this room to your own
garden area.
As
you return to the front hallway and walk forward you enter the
lobby, to your left is the
“Heart Of The Home Suite”. This
romantic honeymoon suite features a king-size wrought iron bed; loveseat with a
floor-to-ceiling rockwork fireplace; and private dining area. The ensuite has a
heart-shaped jetted tub for two.
Relax by the fire in velour/terry robes and slippers, after a soak in the tub. A
French Door leads to the deck and a spectacular and rare
view of
Copper Island.
Returning to the foyer, you enter the main portion of the
house--David's Kitchen, to your right, dining room to your left,
living room ahead.
The
dining room leads onto the deck
that overlooks Shuswap Lake, and the large, open living room
features a floor-to-ceiling rockwork
fireplace;
book and video library (includes
books about the area, its hiking trails, and more...); and satellite
television. When you arrive, a beverage center is waiting
for you. In the
beverage center you
will find sweet snacks, fresh fruit in season, microwave popcorn to
complement any movie from our library, over 25 different
Stash Tea's to
choose from as well as cold drinks.
The 16' vaulted ceiling and log beams create a romantic feeling of
warmth and friendliness, ideal for entertaining.
Just right of the living room is a bright
sun room; from here you can view the
garden and forest at any time of day—especially while enjoying your
breakfast. In the spring, you
can watch the many beautiful hummingbirds that perch on the feeders just
outside the windows.
The
deck is spacious with
surrounding iron hand railings and a gate that faces the front
driveway. You can spend a whole day enjoying the
view of Shuswap Lake and Copper
Island. There is plenty of deck furniture, complete with shade
umbrellas, swing, guest barbeque* and
"Roy" the refrigerator who can
store a modest amount of your perishable foods.
The 8 person hot tub spa is
located at the back of our home in a quiet area with a great
view of the lake.
The grounds feature an arbour intertwined with ivy and flowers, an
inviting setting under the trees; this would be ideal for an outdoor
wedding or party. And let's not forget the fire pit for those
evenings when a marshmallow roast is a must.
